Changing a defunct pond to a bog garden

Extreme Novice here....

My pond had a leak in the liner, so I drained it out and I want to change it to a bog garden....there are many conifers surrounding and shadowing, hence a ton of needles....a real pain in the butt for keeping a pond clean. Someone mentioned to me that a bog garden would be nice there...

Any suggestions from would be greatly appreciated!

I had a small 30 gallon preformed pond. When I upsized to a larger pond I moved the smaller one and filled it with peatmoss and sand and put in Pitcher plants and Venus Fly traps. If these plants will survive winter in your area, no reason you couldn't do it.
