You can put it in a small pot. Keep it moist and humidity high while developing.

Thanks for the tip & the assistance w/ the link.

Sounds like if I put it in mix given your tips, I should enclose it in plastic to keep the humidity in & high. I think I may just stick w/ the Leca stones.

Summer is just starting in NYC, can get very hot in my place, I'd be afraid it'll dry out if not placed in baggie & as well as that works, I so hate the look of it.

I check on it last night, the original leaf is looking kind of ratty, I think I need to do something soon.

You can keep it in water for months too but don't expect a lot of growth. Keep it covered to keep the germs out if you go with just water. Pot it up at your leisure.

HCMC, I've checked on the leaf again & it's looking so ratty I'm thinking maybe I should pot it up into mix after all.

Am curious about your comment that If I leave it in the water a while longer, not to expect much growth. Why would that be pls? Lack of nutrients?

Also what kind of mix should I use pls? AV mix w/ some extra long sphag or maybe Hoya mix w/ some additional peat? TIA

Just my observation rooting in watering - they never grow that much which can be good if you don't have time to take care of another plant. In other words it just stays a small plant and may produce a few tiny leaves here and there.

As for a mix, any good potting mix should be fine. You can add perlite to the mix if you wish. The biggest thing to watch out for is a mix that does not dry out over a few days - this will lead to root rot in no time.

You may want to keep the plant under some kind of humidity dome/cover when you do pot it up and slowly wean it to "normal" household air.
