I just saw your question from October. This is a Tillandsia cyanea. Cyanea means 'blue' from the coloration of the flowers which are formed on the pink paddle. It is also called Pink Quill because of the pink bracts.

T. cyanea likes high humidity, bright light, and good air circulation. You don't have to grow it in a pot. It will grow well mounted on a piece of wood but will need to be misted regularly. If it is still happy the way you have it planted keep it like that but don't overwater the roots themselves.
