Bringing them back in: lighting

I was reading about acclimatizing outdoor plants due to come indoors; most people say bring them back and forth so they gradually adjust to lower light. I'm thinking I might have the opposite problem: my mixed variety begonias are outside in light shade - dappled sun and they're going inside in September to south windows. I think the sun might still be too strong. Should I get sheers for the windows or just keep them a couple feet back for a while?
