newbie here

I guys,

my name is Laura and i've made a couple comment post but this is my 1st real post on here.

this winter was my 1st try and I had huge success.

but mostly with annuals.

I'm still amazed how easy it is. I did do some hollyhocks, lupins 3 actually flowered, and delphinium.

my real passion in gardening (well this year) is making cuttings.

went way over board on the weigelias.

if anyone is interessed in trading plants

(see my trade list)

please come to the round robin exchange forum.

I'm new to this so I figured i'd just ask.

Look for "no limit plant swap 4."

it's a fair trade for postage.

Just wanted to invite all of you because I've seen a lot of you pictures and winter sowers have amazing stuff.

I'm already saving milk jugs in my celler.

and perenniel seeds.I won't be caught off guard this winter.

Thanks

Laura

P.S.pitimpinai

your frontstep garden is a jungle of gorgeous!!!

Welcome - Laura - I've already enjoyed your posts and now I know why I hadn't "noticed" you before - you are a NEWBIE!

    Welcome

We are a very friendly and helpful group (if I do say so myself) and invite you to ask as many questions (even if they seem "silly") as you want because NO question is silly when it comes to wintersowing and gardening.

    Have fun

Hi, Laura! It's nice to have you here at WS!

I've been tempted by some of those big plant swaps, but I've gotten so many plants at the Chicago-area swap, and there's another one coming up!! I did do the Unnamed Iris swap on the round-robin forum, that was great!

I looove the group seed swaps like the Wish List swap and the Theme Garden swaps (held in the winter)--there are so many people involved, and I always get really good stuff.

I looked at your exchange page, and it was really funny! I'm going to start using the term "Mr. E" seeds. My BF will be very confused, since he has his "Mr. Z" flowers. (He collected the seed from Mr Z's, and that is what he calls the flowers. They're Gaillardia!!)

Welcome, Laura. Do sow some perennials this year. They do really well, and you can have tons of what would be expensive plants for the price of a pack of seeds. Or, trade for them.

    Thanks guys,
    you all are so nice.
    Karen, you bet I will!
this year i gave away so many shirly poppies, convos, salvia, dill, etc. people were afraid to stop by lol
and just about every teenager that came to visit one of mine HAD! to bring a plant home to their mother,
my brother asked me to water his gardens while he went out of town and yup, i snuck in as may as i could.
I really had no idea it was going to work so well.
and i'm one of those crazys who can't just let them fight for themselves so i potted up the extras.
this is going to be too much fun.
