Blackberry Lily.

Go ahead, put it on your wish list now. I won't have any seeds to spare. This one is going to be a nice chunk of my 50 containers. It's almost like a tiny orchid.

And I love the way the blooms curl up.

Yeah, Bev. These are two years old now. Last year, they were like tiny blades of grass. I'm surprised I didn't weed them out.

Funny coincidence...today I took a picture of a plant I bought last year, but it didn't have a tag. I was going to post it to find out what it was. I was just reading another post from rbrady and he/she had a picture of a candy lily. I thought, hmmm that looks like my flower, except mine is yellow. Did some research and found out mine is Belamcanda chinensis 'Hello Yellow' Dwarf Blackberry Lily. I just love it. I will definitely be WS it. I'll have to see if it needs cold strat or if I can start it as soon as I get the seeds. It says it is nice planting in masses and it will have room to spread where it is.

Mine bloomed for the first time this year too and I love it. Luckily I got some seed started this year too so I can expect more blooms next year as well.

Great blackberry lilies. Thanks for sharing the photos.

When I gather the seeds, I always put the "berries" in a plastic baggie and put it into the freezer for a few days. Then I get them out and complete the drying process. Something lays eggs in the berry and little white worms hatch. Freezing takes care of that.

Yes, they are so pretty, I just love them. I have a mix of blackberry lilies and candy lilies. This year, I noticed some that are more pink and some that are yellow and white.

Ooow, I can't wait for mine to bloom. I WS 2 milk jugs last winter from two different trades. Got great germination,and they are growing great. Slugs love them though, so I have to move one clump. Don't know what color they will be, but I have the potential of having two different varieties. I will wintersow more of these!
