Under 50F in Phoenix...blurrrr. I had to where a long sleeve shirt and first day for jeans instead of shorts. And dew until maybe 9am. Pulling that first weed of the morning is wet and cold.

I forgot to add, which I just noticed my beautiful white mums are now brown.

There was frost on the roofs of houses in Woodlea/Melrose this morning. Wasn't expecting that.

I always tell my friend in Norway about our "cold" temperatures and he just laughs at me and calls it shorts weather.

Fun weather report. Is this unusually early for temps like that there?

Grant : in a word yes. I have had mums forever and this is the first time they have been burned. I mean they take the snow etc.
This year what I think happened was it went from 80 one day w/65 night temps to 65/24 in one day. There was not gradual cool down, just a drop. We normally don't start to get into the 30's until after Thanksgiving
But of course its nothing like back east

I hear you campv, regardless of climate, plants tolerate cold (or hot) temps when they occur gradually rather than all at once. As you said, your winter is very short. Here's to spring! Happy gardening, thanks for the reply. I love talking weather!
