That photo looks like 'Ruby Meyer.' I will be amazed if the bulb's flowers match the photo! Please keep us updated, Lena.

Regarding 'Sunny Yellow' and 'Green Dream,' the distributor probably packaged a mix of light green and yellow varieties under those unregistered names.

You may be lucky and get something very nice.

As I look more closely at the cybister in the upper left it does closely resemble the extinct Ruby Meyers. My two Ruby Meyers last season were Rio Negros and if you don't already have one, not a bad substitute; unfortunately, now I have 4 of them!

Keep us posted when they bloom...

thanks for your observations and opinions! The cybister's tag reads "Bogota", but Frank, too, says it might well be Ruby Meyer. The bulb is not large but of very decent quality. The three fancier bulbs are from a local garden center, not a big box.

Funnily, there are no hybrids under the names of Green Dream and Sunny Yellow on their site either. So Blanca is probably right - it will turn out to be some mix of light colored hippis.

An update on the bulbs: all potted up and "cleared for take-off":

at the back: Sunny Yellow - Green Dream - Rapido
front: Bogota - Papillio

Ok, time for a little update!
My so-called "Green Dream" has opened 3 large beautifully shaped greenish flowers. I have a suspicion it might be a Lemon Lime. What do you think?

Here's Rapido from the same batch:

6 flowers on the first scape, the second one is diligently growing and should open in less than a week.

Look up H. Limona and I think you'll find your "Green Dream's" twin!

Yep, I was going to suggest that it might be Limona too. Limona can be several tones of a light yellow/green, a very vigorous bulb.

We're all still waiting to see what surprises that "Ruby Meyers" in the upper left yields!

Limona has those tell tale reddish brown marks near the center.

I'm sure you're absolutely right - I googled Limona and what convinced me was that light pinkish tinge toward the tip of the petals. I also found another thread here on GW about Limona - very interesting info about the flower changing its coloration depending on the season. Will post there too.
As for the other bulbs, my "Sunny Yellow" has only now started to show first signs of life - the tip of the first scape is sticking out some 5 mm, so it will take a while before it blooms. The bulb itself is very large, plump and healthy. So holding my breath for this one now.
"Bogota" is growing a scape, which currently measures some 15 cm. So soon you'll be able to tell me if what I got is a real Bogota or some other hybrid (Ruby Meyer - as some here were hoping).
Papillio is doing well, growing its first scape, something else has showed its tip - hopefully another scape.
Will keep ya'll posted!

the reddish-brown streaks in the throat are there, two to the petal, three top petals have them! In the close-up below you can see them as rather indistinct, but after a couple of days they have become much more pronounced!

Donna, as we are supposed to get quite a bit of sun and warmth in the coming days, there's a good chance "Bogota" or whatever it happens to be will open before New Year's. I'll post as soon as it does!

Cold temps and good light will influence color. Maria's post shows H.Limona in a highly colored phase. Search for Limona in this forum. Several years back many bulbs had lots of good color. My phone is running out of juice, or I'd search for it. ....ok, ran and put it in charger... Here a Limona that was highly-colored on year. Guess 2010 and 2011 were years of vivid color for this bloom FOR ME!

thanks for the thread link, read it, loved it, learned a lot about Limona - I'm excited to see what next year's blooms will look like. As for the color, it's the same with Thanksgiving Cactus we spoke about in another thread - exposure to cold temps while the plant is setting buds will give the throat and base of the petals that purplish tinge - which is not necessarily a welcome development on a white TC, but I personally like it.
