My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
Yes, I got a similar message only mine said $25 for 15 bulbs plus 5 dollars for inspection fees.
I am seriously considering canceling my order due to the fact that they will be shipping in January and in Massachusetts this is below freezing time for several months and I don't really want to ask them to hold the shipment for a few months, I don't need the confusion or the threat of frozen bulbs in my life at the moment.
Not cast in stone but this is what I am thinking...
Dear Blanca, I'm sure your email will arrive soon. They are probably sending emails out in batches. Odd that there is no invoice, we have to do our own totals and arrange for payment in Euros (I assume). Easy enough through a cashiers check, I guess. I am very nervous about them shipping in January.
Maida, Look at Sonatini.com, under specialties tab. K
I haven't heard anything since I inquired in May, but I will be patient. Have you asked the company to provide the amount due in US dollars? The dollar is quite strong at the moment. I am also concerned about the late shipping date. To cancel, or not to cancel???
Hi Maida,
I think that you need to place an order on the website before they will respond.
Kristi, I'm sure you're right that I should have been thinking Euros. Well, being the dummy that I am I don't want to have to figure out what I owe them. I'd be for a group order if someone else organized it and gets them to hold off for a few months and I could just mail them a check, otherwise. I think I just might opt out. Don't have to make my mind up for a few days, Don't mind me, I'm just having a bad day and don't need any more confusion.;-( Donna
I received an e-mail from them. I live in the EU-area (Finland) and was expected to pay for phytosanitary fee which I find unusual. I was also concerned about the time period for shipment, very risky.
I did hear back from Andre Barnhoorn and there is good news! He will hold the bulbs till March or even April, as long as the order is confirmed before early January.
I have now asked if he can handle payment in US$. So...I'll keep you posted.
Shipments will be made using track and trace air post, so it sounds like a fairly quick shipment method and you can check it's movement from The Netherlands to your front step (or PO box!).
OK...got another email from Andre. The Track and trace method provides delivery in 5-7 days from shipment. It's fully trackable.
He has also provided information on how to wire US$ to his account. That sounds easy enough. He asked me please not to send a US$ cashiers check as the banks in Europe must charge a large fee to handle that sort of transaction.
