Brom flowering

I have a Brom that was given to me back in 1975. Yes, you read that correctly, 30 years ago. It was in bloom at the time, and threw two pups. The pups are now giant sized, over a foot high. Has not bloomed since I first got it. Someone suggested putting an apple piece in the cup, which I did, and the plant produced two pups, but no bloom. This was about a year ago. I have tried various light situations, to no avail. I fertilize it every now and then with leftover orchid fertilizer, and pretty much keep the cups full of water. It gets a shower in the bathtub about once a month. I know you will ask what kind it is, but I don't know. Here are it's characteristics: solid gray-green leaves with spines on the edges, mounted on a piece of driftwood. Right now it's under a grow light with my orchids and pineapples.

Thanks for any suggestions.
