I just purchased a Desert Rose plant, I think it needs transplanting, I do have the cactus soil, What I need to know is, It has a very large lower trunk, is this supposed to be exposed above the soil? Looks like a lot of roots sticking out of it. The top is very healthy looking but the two buds that were on it fell off.

Any help or data on this plant would be appreciated.

Oh, I also have this on a sill in an East window, it gets morning sun, Is this ok?
