Help with a cutting please

I have a green cutting of Creamsikle, left it in water till it had lots of nubbies then potted it up. Now the top of the cutting is brown and shriveled. I watered thoroughly when first potted then weekly as our house is very dry. There is no sign of leaves emerging anywhere on the cutting. Please tell me it's not dead as this was the cutting I wanted to grow the most out of all my cuttings :(

It might not be dead. Just leave it be and see if you get any growth from the lower portion of the stem or even from below the soil line. DO NOT KEEP IT DAMP. You want the soil to be barely moistened until it has roots. If you get new growth you can wait until the dead portion of the stem drops on it's own or you can trim it. If you are going to trim it wait until it's put out a decent amount of new growth.
