The cuttings you sent me of your unknown double pinks were hardwood and of good size. Out of my own neglect, I lost 2 of them. The 3rd one is coming along nicely. It might not be anything you did, Bill. Everyone has their own way of handling them after receiving them. Just my 2 cents!

Bill, it is harder to get cuttings to root in the Fall if that is when they were sent. Also my experience has been that many times when cuttings don't make it , it is because we baby them to death with over watering. Even I am guilty of doing this sometimes and I should know better.

Yes Patricia,over watering in the fall and winter has has done in some of my cuttings in the past,and I should have known better also. Drier is better,and cuts down on the fungus gnats too.

Can you believe it? I'm still learning this lesson after 3 years. I've been studying Plumerias- and they like even less water than Brugs, and they are related. So now I've been planting a brug cutting in barely moist soiless mix, and lightly sprinkle a few drops of water on it, ONLY after it becomes VERY dry. I am having a much better success rate now!

They may go ahead and root - only time will tell.

I hope so. Some times they are a little slow. I have some that I thought weren't going to do anything and I now have little green things starting to poke out. Almost all of my green cuttings have died, though.
