Not sure of where you are in Il. but there is all kinds of free seeds to be had if one looks around and gathers their own. Takes a little effort and in some cases a lot of fortatude. Public parks is litterly loaded with plant with an abundance of seeds at thie time of year. Private yards with nice flowers is most often accessable if you have the courage to ask the particular Home owner. Most gardeners are more than willing to share or just give you seeds if you talk gardening. I carry snack size zip-loc bags and sharpie pins with me all the time in my truck and car both, just for that purpose. jim

There are newbie seed offers on this forum regularly, and check out the seed exchange forum too. There are lots of generous seed traders who are willing to share seeds for a SASBE (self-addressed stamped bubble envelope). You can get great seeds for the price of postage.

I did a seed offer last February, and sent out about 20 SASBEs. I had gone overboard purchasing seed and had so much extra!

Also, T's flowers and things have some unusual seeds for one dollar a packet.
