eBay Protocol question

I need some advice please!

I am a first time ebay buyer. I won about 5 bids from tctopcat. The cuttings look beautiful except for one small issue. I got three cuttings for "Chrissy". Two look fine but they are skinny. The third is big and fat but mushy.

Should I raise that with tctopcat and ask for a replacement for the one or is that too picky?

Thanks for your advice.

Also if all of these work out I will have way too many brugs! I am in FL so think I will have good luck rooting them. Would any of you be interested in trading for some of your new cuttings?

Anita

PS I had posted this as part of the tctopcat thred but since I have a more general question and I am afraid it will get lost in that thread, I decided to repost as a new topic.

Anita he is a really nice man, and wants you to be happy with your cuttings. Are you planning on buying more from him ? I think what he says in his auction is that he will replace cuttings that are bad, and you pay the shipping.

Anita, I might be interested. What others do you have?

I should have thought to look at his policies! Thanks. And, yes, given all your comments and how good the rest look I do not want to do anything to annoy / offend him.

Maybe what I will do is tell him I have the one bad one and if the other two do not make it I would like him to replace the bad one at my shipping expense. That seems fair and if the other two DO make it then I really do not need the third.

Linda: I will get the list when I get home...

He's a good seller but there's no reason that you should pay for shipping to replace the bad cutting. I wouldn't ask for replacements for the skinny green ones but I certainly would ask him to replace the mushy one at his expense and if he wants the bad one back he needs to pay the shipping on that also.

He replaced my whiskers cuttings but they were all bad within a couple of days. Something had happened to them that cause them to draw water straight up them and rot in just a couple of days. I also made another order and told him to hold them til he sent those out and it worked out well. He was very nice about it.

Anita, I just went and looked at one of his auctions, it does not say pay for shipping replacement cuttings....sorry, it must have been another seller I saw..oops... I made a boo boo..not my first..Edna

The whiskers I purchased went bye bye. I didn't bother to ask for replacements.

I just figure that it's something I'm doing wrong. As Jim said - I may not have the "touch" for the funkies. And I'm quite certain it's something I'm doing wrong.

I swear I'm gonna end up with Grimaldis (grin)

it appears that allot of his cuttings are going south. This does not bode well. i think there was some freezing of the cuttings.
Where he lives there was a freeze, By the way.....

How do I know this? I asked him!

Yall do not feel bad. I have been doing flips trying to keep mine alive. I had not ordered in over a year any cuttings. So I assumed all of you were just making mistakes. Now if I sent some of mine they would root on the way. It is called clip and ship.

I got the whiskers in the same order with Hawaiian double whites and they were fine. The new Whiskers look fine too. I just think they got too left out and got too dry or too cold or something. Not sure. Barbra says all those looked good when she got them. As many as he sends out there are bound to be some that don't get handled properly but he seems to be doing a pretty good job percentage wise.

I had problems with a number of cuttings from that seller last year and had stopped buying from him. After hearing that the quality was much better this year I did buy a few and they seemed ok. I did have problems with one variety and that was after they rooted. I'm not sure if it was something in the cuttings or something I did.

You know what - trading is a lot more fun that buying ! IMHO!!

My cuttings (French Connection, Pink baron, Harlot) are fine so far. I planted them all yesterday. Everything has roots except Harlot (the one I wanted most) but I planted them anyway before they rot so hopefully they will be OK. If you look in his listings it says if they are soft or semi hard wood. I have no luck with green cuttings so I try to watch what I get. But if it's something I really want & a good price, I might buy anyway & hope for the best.

Is there anyone who would be willing to sell any of their double pink or peach brugmansia cuttings or plants. I need 6 for my brugmansia bed, and only have 2, 3 if Meadow Princess roots. I have my 6 pink singles. I am short on the doubles.. Barbra,

don't forget, Barbra, one of your pinks is from one I sent you, if you planted it. This is a NOID from the fraud seller filthyrich10

Barry, I forgot, I guess I need more than what I figured on. If anyone has extras, that they are willing to sell, please send me an email, and let me know. I will keep trying to win them on ebay, but so far, I have not won anything since the first of December, when I got my 3 single pinks. Barbra,
