Hi nebu, beautiful photos! Just a guess but you Billbergia could be 'Muriel Waterman'. It reminds me of one I've seen in my mother's collection.

Thank you purplestar, 'muriel waterman' very much looks like the one, although the photos that I found online weren't as vivid or rich in color, so if not the same one, I know I am on the right track.

Thanks paul t23, the camera that took these is a simple Canon Powershot Pro 1. It is basically an 8.0 MP point and shoot, but it has a very versatile lens and 7.0 optical zoom, with a very easy to use macro setting.

If you can believe it, this brom looks better in person than on film, the picture just doesn't do it justice. Thanks for looking and more to come!

Seriously, Muriel Waterman sounds like a likely candidate to me. My MW never blooms, so I can't say for sure, but whatever it is definitely has euphemiae blood in it, and the little bits of foliage I can see are consistant with MW.

To be honest with you, I have had this type a while, and now is the first time it has flowered in years.

I know Dr. Brown sells 'Muriel Waterman' as I have purchased her from him. He also has what I believe to be 'La Noche' which is darker than MW.
