Rosepedal good luck with your seeds. They are so much fun to grow. I soaked the last ones I got from Shawn and low and behold. After I had taken off the hard shell. I decided to do what I read somewhere once. To soak the seeds another day. I did that because the seeds growing out that I started earlier...having a hard time loosing that thing coat that keeps the leaves from breaking out and opening up. So to my suprise at the middle of the second day...the one species...name..hmmm maybe tomorrow it will come back to me lol, had already the little white root thing coming out!!!!!

To me that was amazing. Maybe it is a good thing to share?

I forgot about mine and they soaked for like a week and were already sprouted when I planted them, lol. One still got its head stuck and I decapitated it trying to pull it loose from the seed coat.

I hope they do well for you. Just look at all the seeds you sent me and Lucy too as well as many others here. It's a great group of people. Kristy that might be a good way to sprout them, just let them soak. I've never tried that.

Hi so do I just soak them in a baggie for a day and than plant them on top of the soil? Heat and lights for them too? Thanks newbie here....

I soak them overnight to soften the corky seed cover. After soaking I peel off the cork. Be careful not to damage the seed and they can also get slippery. Once the seed is out I just press it into the soil, barely covering it then stick it somewhere warm. Keep the soil moist but not wet or they can rot. Some will sprout pretty fast while others can take a lot longer. I've had brug seeds sprout after a couple months but most are up within 3 weeks. Germination can be erratic but not as erratic as daturas.
