Nice haul. The first one is a Dyckia. More then likely Red Devil. As far as the rest go I can only guess.

Maybe 2, 4 and 5 are some type of Aechmea?

#4 looks like Matchstick bromeliad, Aechmea gamosepala.

Maybe #2 is a Billbergia? I never realized there were SO MANY bromeliads!

I am guessing that #2 is an aechmea nudicaulis. There are a number of forms, but they all have the 'thumbprint' indent halfway up the leaves.

#3 may be a neoregelia grown in low light. I am guessing that from the marbling, which looks neo-like to me.

Thanks, Bob. I think you're right--#2 might be Aechmea nudicaulis. I'll read up on it. #3 might be a pup of a neo--it was loose without a pot.

1, Dyckia (Species or hybrid)

2. Ae, nudicaulis (One of many - See the FCBS Photo Index)

3. Neo. hybrid of some sort

4. Ae. gamosepala

5. Ae. gracilis? - Some question marks here - If it's only about six inches high and if when the flowers finish the fruit are yellow in colour and long lasting, it could be an Aechmea species called gracilis.

I have read somewhere though that it has gone through a name change although the name on mine is still the original name and I don't know what the new name is.

Thank you, Nev. That helps. Maybe #5 is gracilis, or maybe organensis? Mine is a short one. I'll check the fruit for color.

I don't think I'll ever be a brom collector--too many to choose from! :)
