Did anyone else buy a Multiflora Yellow Garden?

Mine arrived as a klister. Way too big for a 1-gallon pot, I planted it in a 2-gallon pot. Now that it's sprouted I can tell it's going to need a much larger pot! There are probably 15 bulbs surrounding the mother bulb.

It will be a good one to split and put in the future large back flower bed.

I wasn't sure that this is a holiday blooming bulb for forcing, but when looking at it tonight, the mother bulb is pushing out a scape. It was 80F here today and everything grew an inch!Ã°ÂÂÂ

You are out of control!!!! Mine is shooting up a scape from the mother bulb. I had originally questioned whether or not they were a "forcing" type, but I guess they've been prepped to bloom.

Do you have yours yet? Were they klisters too?

This was mine yesterday morning. The temperature here was 80, and so everything grew an inch or more yesterday!!

Ooooh... who is selling those? I've been wanting a klister, but the only ones I saw this year were red (not interesting to me). I can't wait to see that one in bloom!

Royal Colors had both red, stripped, and yellow. The yellow is towards the bottom of the SPECIALS page.

The mother bulb has sent up a second scape. I think I counted 11 offsets with 4-6 leaves, and several others with no leaves yet.

Kristi, do you know if RC tends to offer sales in the new year? I would love to buy one of these... but I'd have to get it on sale (due to the extra shipping fees).

As I recall, they start to offer "grab bags" of 5 bulbs for $x. I don't think you get a choice of bulbs.

I got a Yellow Garden same as yours. A klister of about 12-15 bulbs. I removed the biggest 4 from the mother bulb and planted them together elsewhere as I thought it would be too much overcrowded if I left it as it is. Still if not after the first year, in 2 years time it will surely need repotting and splitting.

I envision a huge 16"+ pot of these within just a couple of years. It shouldn't take long.

Does your mother bulb have scapes?

I now have 4 scapes going...2 on the mother bulb and 2 of the offsets each have 1. There's one more offset that looks large enough to have a scape, so I'm hopeful.

When they are done blooming, I'll put them in a much larger pot to give them room to grow and spread!!

WOOOO HOOOO!!!!! My multiflora red and yellow just arrived today at my work address and you know I didn't waste any time at all ripping the package open. The bulbs are in perfect condition with no signs at all of freeze damage. Now I'm jumping out of my skin with anticipation and I can't wait to get home and plant them :-))))))
