Seeds of Note

I was looking thought the T&M catalog, and I found quote a few notable seeds this year.

The first one of note I mentioned before, the world's first red-flowered rudbeckia from seed!!!! Woo hoo! I purchased those in October when they were available. The first round had already run out. Hopefully, I will be growing cherry brandy next season!

The year, I winter sowed annual hollyhocks! I had no idea they were annuals at the time. They were on sale in Kmart under the Martha Stewart label. They were lovely and they blossomed quite nicely the first year. They did quite well when the other hollyhocks were hitting the dust due to the rust disease. It rained quite a bit this year. I will definitely grow them next year!

The Martha Stewart variety was labeled as dwarf hollyhock. T&M states that these grow to 28 inches. That is a nice compact plant! Here is a link to T&Ms annual hollyhock.
