Frigid temps

IT'S COLD OUT THERE!!!!!!!!! We had a high of 9 F. I have no idea what the wind chill was and tomorrow is supposed to be colder. I know this is nothing compared to the folks in the Midwest but it's unusual for us. My GH has cold spots in the 20's.

It's so bad that all of DH's PA deliveries froze. Their trucks are refrigerated and were set at 40 but the outside cold was just too much. The water pics holding orchid sprays were frozen solid and they are in insulated boxes!

I hope it at least warms up to our normal cold winter temps soon.

Crappy Jersey sure does suck. Every time I let the dogs out & have a cig..not even out there 5 mins and my face and hands huuuurt! Wanted to kill Daisy today when she made me go out after her..she hopped the fence after a squirrel.
    I hate this cold..Maine had a record breaking -50!!! I can't even imagine that!

I can say, this is bone chilling, even for us here. we are
used to cold weather but this is ridiculous for us.
5 below zero, with wind chill of 15 below. it won't be any
    better until wednesday or thursday.
I will definately be staying in, keeping my baby boy in
    no shopping or nothing

I'm in the northern part of Mn., about 90 miles south of the Canadian border. All this week we've had -20's to -30 F. That's not including the windchill factor. Schools and events have been cancelled. But,alas, the wind has switched from the N-NW to the south. We're forecast for a heat wave next week, maybe daytime highs in the 20's. I think we're either brain dead or have frozen brains. But, is there any perfect place?

WOW, I can't even imagine how cold that must be. The only place I have been to once during winter was in Waterloo, Iowa and that was cold for me! You all stay warm and safe, and let's all chant "SPRING, SPRING, SPRING"!

And I was gonna complain about it being 39 today. I guess I'll shut up and feel lucky. Me and John both have sore throats and sniffles since we have to leave at 6am to go let Kylies dad feel me up a bit, lol. Old men gotta have fun too after all, lol. One squeeze and he will feel like a new man for weeks, lol.

VERY COLD here too. We are in the - temps at night and I think it was even a little - during the day too. Most of the schools around were cancelled. With the windchill today they say it felt like -20. I can confirm that, lol. Just to go out for a sec your fingers go numb.

I really do hope that you all get a break soon. I don't know how you do it... I complain when it gets near 70. Laura gets sick of listening to it. You'd never guess that I grew up in New York... I hated that weather! Most of my family now lives in San Diego, and I hate it there, because its so cold. I'm such a wuss! Anyway... I will think warm thoughts for you and wish you well.

This is freaking miserable!!!!! I heard that Atlanta, GA was sunny all day yesterday but never got above freezing. This is crazy. Someone sent me Theobroma cacao pods from Puerto Rico yesterday. Thank goodness they were sent overnight with a signature required because I wasn't home. If they'd been left at the door they'd have frozen in a couple minutes. DH was nice enough to go to the Fed Ex warehouse last night and pick them up for me. Gramsharon I can't even imagine those temps! I start complaining when it gets below 50 and turn into a hermit during the winter. I seriously hate the cold and the older I get the more it bothers me. I can usually satisfy my gardening itch in the greenhouse when it's cold but the temps are so low that I can't even do that now.

Wonderful hubby Karyn..This trader told me. She walks her yard everday. Her hubby buys her plants and hides them in the yard to see if she can find them. This sounds like something your hubby would do for you....Stay warm.... : )

Rosepedal, all our husbands are gonna be in big trouble now that you said that!! LMAO.
I said to mine, "Hey, how come you don't do that?" He was like, '"huuuhhhh? what did I do now?"

I hate the cold as well. As much as I like places like Montana and Alaska etc. I know I am too much of a wuss to stick it out long term. I loved it when we lived in WY by Yellowstone. It is awesome there but I go stir-crazy in the winter and am horrible to live with lol. It got in the 20's last night here and that was bad enough.
