Dog training or a long leash? Wash cups out if the smell is what the attracts the dog

Junglegal...Minxie is on to something. My little daschund loves the stinky smell if I don't keep the cups washed out. He likes to roll in them. lol

Sprinkle cayenne pepper around the ground, the kind you find in bags, cheap, at Mexican markets. Harmless but VERY effective...for cats too.

My Labrador also developed a taste for Broms, she would only eat my favourite ones though. I was able to remove my singular plants out of her reach, she grew out of eating things at about 2years old.

I have been told that Epson salts in the cups will stop a dog eating Broms, it apparently sends them to the lavatory in a hurry and they soon associate eating Broms with bad bodily functions - I have not tested the theory.

She won't get heartworms from the larvae-the adult skeeter has to bite an infected animal to pass it on. At 13 not a big problem anyway, she'll probably die of old age before the worms cause trouble.
Fencing maybe? Like that rabbit fencing? I used to have a dog that ate cactus, if he couldn't get to mine he just went off & ate nopalitos in the cow pastures.

I thought of the pepper idea also.Seems harmless to dog and plant and soil.

Red pepper doesn't seem to work all that well unless you can really put a lot on. I did some the other day and watched a dog come by 10 minutes later and squat with no problem. The owner is a jerk. A few years ago I put a lot of cayenne pepper in just a few spots and the dogs stayed away.

My brother's dog ate his nearly ripe pineapple growing in his garden, and some varmit got one of my pineapples last spring. So now it's chicken wire around them at first sign of yellow.

My puppy has eaten completely at least a dozen broms and 5 pineappple plants I cant keep up! He is attracted to only these, it seems. i am going to try the epsom salt idea, i already use the cayenne powder, works sometimes but after a rain he is right back at it
