Hi Pippi,

Wait until the flower falls off of the top; a pod will form below where the flower was. When it starts turning from green to a shade of tan, it is ready to harvest. The seeds are very tiny and if the pod has started to crack open they can spill out. This is the botanical name for Snapdragon's-
Antirrhinum majus. Here is a wonderful website for you to bookmark- you can search by common name or botanical and it shows you what the seedlings, seeds and pods/other info for many types of seeds. Great place for seedy individuals! LOL!

Enjoy,

Here is a link that might be useful: seed stuff you want to know

I let the seed heads dry on the plant, they'll look kinda like little skulls, then break these open over a bowl because the seeds are so small. I'm kinda thinking if you just put the seed heads when thoroughly dry in a container and gave it a good shaking many of the seeds would just fall to the bottom of the container.

cracking open little skulls, huh, shiny? I think I'll stay on my own side of the kitchen...

Good thinking, it's best not to come between a woman and her gardening.
