What camera and lens are you using for your pictures. They are awesome.

Are you located in Texas? We are expecting rain, followed by sleet, and then several inches of fresh snow. Not a kind environment for monarchs, or butterflies in general. There are signs of spring here, the lakes are free of ice, and the daffodils are developing buds, which will turn into blooms in a few weeks.

Thank you, the camera is a simple Canon Powershot Pro 1, it's basically a glorified point-and-shoot camera, haha. It's not SLR.

I live in Central Florida Ericwi. So actually these photos are from back in late january/early february 09, amazingly.

When the caterpillars start walking away from the plant to look for a spot to pupate, I will bring them inside and put them in an aquarium full of sticks.

Great pictures! I really enjoyed looking at them. Looks like the old Mama did her duty to perpetuate the species. The proboscis looks so cool in the 4th picture!

I loved raising a few Monarchs last summer. Can't wait for them to show up here, although the Asclepias hasn't even starting popping up yet.
