Nice work there catkim, don't know what your doing to make them so happy, but it's sure working!

Hi catkim,
Someone will ask for plant names,so it may as well be me.
That 1st plant is a beauty ! Heck, they all are !
Bob

Yes, definitely need a name for contestant #1. It appears to be a fasciata, but what different coloration!

I thought the first one was Ae. Kiwi

Spot on, HDD! I picked it for the color with no knowledge of what the bloom would look like. The giant one is one of John Arden's hybrid vrieseas, I think V. Belgiorno x V. Regina? (I'll have to check the tag.) It's huge.

Okay, found it, but that's confusing because my Ae. 'Kiwi' is a recurvata (bought from Bird Rock 15 or 20 years ago).

Kim, for a pup off your Aechmea, you can visit my house and name your poison!

That's an offer I can't refuse, Dr. Gonz. Pray for pups!

catkim where did you acquire Kiwi?

Member-to-member sale at the brom society last summer, from Tom who has lots of cool stuff.

Ok Tom look out ..where did you get the plant?

:- ) HDD, if it pups as freely as A. fasciata, we can work a trade. You have lots of way cool stuff I lust after, even after the incident of the leaning tree.
Tom could have got the plant in Central or South America where he has traveled, or from another collector, who knows? I'll ask him next time I see him.

catkim you have a deal ..lets hope it multiplies like a regular fasciata :)

I just talked to another friend who has Kiwi and he said it doesnt like high humidity and sun ...it needs cooler less humid conditions to look good...what are your conditions catkim? ...what ever there are the plant loves it
