Dear Al,

You've got some rare ones, ain't ya?

They're quite pretty - I like the contrast of the yellow center and the mauve/lavender/purple of the petals, but then again, I'm color-challenged.

I don't know the answer to your question, but whatever the verbiage (and I mean that in the word's original meaning, not the contemporary meaning that has been unfairly added to it), I shall still post pics.

The more succulence and succulents in the world, however they're arrived at, the better that place is. The end does indeed justify the means.

Many thanks for the kind words Mr. J.

And as far as posting pictures is concerned, I'm having a great time producing a photographic record of what remains of my collection. And I know only one person within 150 miles of where I live who is remotely interested in C&S. With the exception of the folks who visit this forum I know no one who would be interested in my plant photos.

Continue to post I will and I hope some will enjoy.

Al

Hi Al,

I'd call this one obscure ... because I've never seen one in the flesh! These plants that insist on hibernating except in the depths of winter are tricky over here above the arctic circle, but your's looks in fine form.

Thanks Ian,

That makes me even happier I decided to post that one.

As I mentioned above, nobody I know cares a lick about Mesembs. I've one or two more I was fooling with today.

Al

Very nice specimen, Al, & we appreciate you posting it for us to enjoy! :)

Al, make that 2 people within 150 miles who are interested! I always look forward to seeing what new pictures you have to offer. If what we've seen here is only part of the remains, I can't imagine how incredible the whole collection must have been! BTW, you should consider entering some of your specimens in the Philly Flower Show; I bet you'll find a whole lot of interest there!

I like to see these more obscure specimens too Al, I've managed to lose a few over the years, and this was one of them. Nice to see an old friend again, Thnks
