I would say it is more likely a Gasteria than an Aloe. Most Gasterias sold are hybrids (sometimes between species, or even with Aloes). Yours looks like an intermediate form between G. nitida and armstrongii, but may well be something else.

RJ's absolutely correct - it is a Gasteria (named for its stomach-like flowers). I believe it's a hybrid of G. armstrongii and G. nitida.

Thank you both for your help as I was totally in the dark with this one having never heard of the genus Gasteria before, cool name though.

If you have hummingbirds in your area put it outside while in bloom. They love the nectar in the flowers...

I agree with the G armstrongii x G nitida diagnosis. It's a nice one.
