What? A cholla/barrell cross?

I assume he's talking about Ferocactus wislizenii X Ferocactus cylindraceus, not with Cylincropuntia ;-)

Here is a link to my Fero page on Epson--- I bought a small Fero "mutt" ( wislizeni X cylindraceus) from Jim Boemke (sp??) @ Cactus Specialties several years ago. It was tagged as from norththern area of Saguaro Mnt Western Unit. There is a pic of that plant in the Epson site. I also have a couple of pics of what I believed to be hybrids. The rocky limestone Waterman Mnts near Tuscon are home of a nice population of F cylindraceus. F wislizeni are at home in the flatter areas at the base of the mnts. Some of the Fero wislizeni in that area have that "look" about em! They seem to show traits of both species.

Thanks for the pics David. I have a small specimen from Miles Anderson that looks very much like the photos you posted. He said it was grown from seed collected from plants near the Tucson Mountains.
