matching wood?

I have fir doors, fir base boards and fir window trim and for the moment do not want to lay fir floor as I have two babys and I don't want to scratch it up. I am wanting to lay cheap laminate but don't know what would look good with fir. How to match woods? etc.. any ideas?

Please, oh please, paint your fir doors, base boards and window trim white and put down real hardwood floors which have survived decades, even centuries, of babies.
If real hardwood floors are not in the budget, you will not have to worry about matching the fir if you paint it white and put in the laminate flooring.
