Maybe is an Orbea or Stapelia grandiflora not in the Cactus family a succulent.

Sounds like a Stapelia or Ascelpiad of some kind, but they usually do smell.

Hi, I think the name you are looking for is:Asclepiadaceae. I ran across this while I'm trying to find out what is the one I have. Maybe you can help me out. The one I have has a five point star also but with dots on it then a center piece that looks like a flat button ,then a tiny five point star again, on top of that. Any ideas what this is called? It is some kind of succulent, I think. Long stems with points on them.

You probably have a Stapelia variegata. Google it and see if it resembles your plant.
