Congrats on getting a new species for you. They are easy, so take a breath.

Best advice would be to have you start by reading the FAQ here on hand raising livestock (link at top of the forum page). Then from there it would be easy to answer any specific questions you still have beyond that FAQ.

These are such fun to raise!

I just take clippings from the fennel and keep them in a vase in my kitchen window. I find that these caterpillars do not roam until the very end of their larval cycle. Later when they are very fat and in their last instar I move them into a plastic lizard cage with some fennel and some sticks for them to pupate on.

Hooray! Yes, you can easily raise these indoors. In fact, I have two little guys myself right now. Interestingly enough, I found them on CITRUS trees at a local nursery! I was out scoping for Giant Swallowtail eggs and spotted them and thought to myself, "Now I know I am blind but these babies LOOK like Anise Swallowtail larvae NOT GST larvae. What the heck are they doing on the orange tree?" I brought them home, stuck 'em on some Fennel, and they're doing marvelously! They were sort of in that 'not thriving' mode on the citrus so I am glad I switched them.
