What to do with flowering Orthophytum 'starlight'

I've got some Orthophytum 'starlight' flowering and am wondering if someone can tell me what happens next?

Do new plants form from the flowers? Should I cut the stem off? Will the leaves stay as sparse as they are now? Does the parent plant die?

I've been able to find plenty of pictures on the net, but not much information about them.
