Looks like something in the Gymnocaycium monvillei complex. Perhaps G. multiflorum.

Look for chins. Chins means Gymnocalycium. No chins means something else :)

Gymnocalycium calochlorum You think? I looked at that one but the spines seem too straight on Kim's plant.

Consider it a shrinked plant mitreated while in waiting for customer. Give it more body and the spines will be smaller in relation to the body.

I'm sure its healthy Alfonso, it does not look mistreated too me. I also think Gymnocalycium, but I know I don't know enough to go any farther with identification.

I have two very similar plants growing outside. They are certainly gymnos based on the naked flower stalks that they produce prolifically each Spring. The flowers differ only slightly in the intensity of color. But their growth habit has diverged quite a bit in the three years since I bought 'identical' plants. One has wrapped itself very thickly with long spines like Kim's plant. The other has arranged its spines in a much less dense manner. They receive the same conditions, and I can not say if they are the same species or not. They are so much alike, and yet so different. Identifying many cactus is hard unless you have personal experience with the plant. I decline to make a fool of myself by guessing the exact name of your plant. ;)
