How fragrant is this one for you? I saw this one at a nursery a few weeks ago but I couldn't detect any scent. Actually, I've not come across any camellia with fragrance yet.

Do you have Photoshop or a similar photo editor? I use Photoshop to re-size my photos and then re-save them.

Phillip, despite the name, the best it smells is that typical musty camellia odor. I go back and forth liking that fragrance. Next to most truly fragrant plants there is no comparison.

I may give up putting pics inside my posts. I have tried a number of ways to get the sizes right, and nothing works very well. They are either too small or too big. The above is in the 190k range(which is very small for my pics), yet it is still way too much. I tried going to pic sizes under 60k and they are much too small. There does not seem to be any middle ground! I got some very helpful advice from another frequent GW'er about how to post pictures within text to begin with, but I can't seem to straighten out the size issue on my own.

if you are using photobucket, try sizing them to 75% of their original size, rather than 50%. this is done after you submit it to their site and go to "edit" the picture.
i often wondered about the scent of the "high fragrance" camellias. i was thinking they would be as you have described above and nothing like a flower that i would call fragrant.

Hey Jeff. I do use Photobucket, great site. Believe it or not the above picture is reduced to 75%. I cannot find any middle ground in the process of making pics smaller. I have used 75% on other shots with the same results as above. I have also used 25% and that makes them too small. I tried another just a while ago with 50% reduction and it was the closest to the right size, but still a tad too large(ie you still had to do just a little side scrolling to read the message). Once I saw this I didn't post it as a mid-text picture. I cannot understand what I'm doing wrong. 75 is way too big, 25 too small, 50, close, but still not right! I'll just stick to linking rather than direct posting.

When I post with photobucket and do direct-link, here is the trick...

Use the "Tag" lineafter the.jpg", type the following:
width=400height=500

for example...
.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v53/Caroleena/MVC-440F.jpg"width=400height=500>;

and using the complete text, this is the result:

play with the numbers some to get the size you like.

This one is width=300height=300

I use Photobucket also and it automatically resizes my photos to 640 x whatever it is (sorry I forget).
