that's a pretty one. do most of the flowers have that subtle variegation or are some of them colored with more white?
i was in florence last weekend(mar. 18) and saw some nice specimens around town in bloom.
also noticed that the ground at wildwood park on cypress creek was covered in spring beauties (claytonia).

Actually, I'm not sure why the white specks are on it. When I saw it blooming at the nursery last year, the color was solid. I've noticed that it is solid in other photos I've seen on the net. Could it be virused?

Drama girl has white in its flowers it in varing amounts, thats why I bought this one because of a picture of it in an old camelia book. Mines getting ready to bloom.

Drama Girl does not have variegation. Yours got variegation introduced when the grower prepared the cuttings with a tool that had been used on a variegated variety and the tool was not cleaned. Variegation in most camellias is caused by a virsus that does not appear to harm the camellia, unless you consider variegation to flowers and occasionally to leaves harmful. Your camellia is a variety called Drama Girl Variegated. I have a virsus free Drama Girl that never has any white on flowers.
