No, not at all. If the zone number displayed on your post (Z7) is correct, there are many selections that you can choose from. Only when we get to Zone 6 do you need to choose from cold hardy varieties that bloom early or late, thereby missing the worst of the winter cold temperatures.

The link from Internet/Mailorder Vendor Camellia Forest below can give you ideas, so can local nurseries who should be stocking up on camellias "soon" (not sure exactly when in your area). Over here, they stock up anywhere between October to early December. That includes the big stores, HD and Lowes.

If your zone does happen to be 6, look at the choices given by Camellia Forest under the "Cold Hardy" and "Ackerman Selections" Buttons. But if Zone 7 is your zone then click on any of the "sub-categories" given and select those listed as hardy to zone 7. April Dawn (6B), Destiny (7A), Gov. Mouton (6B), La Peppermint (7A) and Lady van Sittart (7A) are some candy cane camellias. I got those by clicking on the Bi-color Button.
