i don't grow this one but the culture would be the same as for other japonicas - probably best with some shade, particularly afternoon. if you do a search for camellia japonica 'bob hope', you will get several good hits. one is linked below for you.

How is your Camellia doing? I planted few last season, and couple of days ago the very first bud opened up - huge, gorgeous color, and very healthy looking.

I love my Bob Hope camellia! It was absolutely full of blooms in Nov. and Dec. Large red singles w/ a yellow center. Mine came from Lowes about 2 yrs ago.
