"There aren't any" they said? Well, not exactly. Maybe none that they are aware of. But there are some.

Camellias in the April Series are unusually winter hardy and reportedly will survive winters in Zone 7 and even colder.

ÂApril Tryst is one example with excellent winter hardiness to Zone 6b. It has red anemone-like and blooms in early spring (April, of course). Others go by the names April Remembered, April Blush, etc.

The Winter Series are cold hardy fall-blooming camellias developed by the US Arboretum. They go mostly by names like Winter's Charm, Winter's Rose, etc. See the link below.
