It's too late for this year. You can do it just after flowering, 1/3 if you want.

I need to prune a few of my camelias, one in particular is at least 12ft tall but only about 4 ft wide. I would like it to fill out a little more, any ideas how to achieve this? Should I top it? Another is growing beside some azaleas that I pruned back severely, the bottom of this camelia plant looks terrible since the overgrown azaleas blocked any sun and air circulation. This one needs to be pruned severely in my opinion but I have never had experience with drastically pruning camelias. I cut back about 20 6ft azaleas after flowering last spring and now they look better than ever, didn't flower too much this year though, i imagine that drastic pruning had a lot to do with that although a pruned them at the correct time. Thanks for any suggestions concerning the camelias. I like to get as much input as possible before I break out the loppers.
