I don't know if any of you have this or not, but as I bought it at HD, it's probably common.

I am constantly doing battle with buying what is easily available and inexpensive as opposed to searching out the definitive camellias. I planted this today in a rather prominent spot in my camellia bed but maybe I should be looking for better specimens.

The bed is about 40'x 40' (under tall pines and such) and is getting filled up rather quickly.

I have an area in the bed I could put 3 japonicas and that area I will be very selective in varieties.

However, those three will be close together. Do you think I should have all the same variety or different?

The whole bed has various pale pink to deep red types but no white, lavender or yellow.

So, already there is a "scattered" color look.

Ideas? Thoughts?

I have a steller dogwood, oakleaf hydrangeas, azaleas, and the japonicas in this bed. The two Marthas is the first Sassanqua there.
