Looks like C. Sasanqua 'Daydream'

On second look side-by-side, I am not sure it is 'Daydream,' the bloom looks the same but Daydream leaves are more ovate, whereas yours are elongated and more serrate. Your image, by the way, is magnificent. Great shot. Isn't it fun capturing these beauties.

Wow it really looks like the daydream but you are right ForrestAL, the leaves on mine are serrated. The scent is sweet and if wafts along after a rain or on high humid days, very light slight apple and jasmine mixed smell. I looked at the apple blossom didger, on Monrovias website the leaves look just like my leaves, serrated but the flower certainly looks different from mine. Maybe its some kind of mix?? Is there a website that I can look at that has all photos of the different types of camelias. Its so hard to find on the web so maybe someone knows of one offhand so I dont have to keep looking. I do love taking photos of my flowers and plants but I still have to learn how to use my camera, haha.. that picture was just a lucky shot! Thanks

There are many C sasanqua alike, White with pink rim partially pending on growth condition. By no means, it is not a tea plant, C sinensis. If we taste the tender leaves of all commom camellia species, they all have fresh tea taste. That is why in China all camellia flowers called Tea Flowers.

I believe that's Hana Jiman, a sasanqua. I have one in my yard, it's beginning to bloom, and the plant has the serrated edged leaves.

When I saw it I thought that it was Hana Jiman, also.

I have photographs, but haven't looked to see how to post them. It is like the one you posted meixue, with more white and less pink - the pink not forming a rim around every flower (though it does on a few).

I Really think that's it, the Hana Jiman! It has an earthy scent as described in other profiles on Yahoo of the plant. Mine started blooming about 2 weeks ago and has been blooming ever since. This is one of our favorite plants because its the only thing blooming in our yard with scent during these cooler wetter days. Its also beautiful because it drops the flowers petals in large numbers so the ground looks like its blanketed with snow. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions and posts. It was very helpful!!

Meixue, what a coincidence. The Hana Jiman is also one of my favorite plants in the landscape because of just the same reasons. I always liked the idea of having something in bloom this time of year. Also, I have always thought the fallen petals were reminiscent of snow on the ground. Chris

Hi Longriver, thanks for that info, I guess I wont be trying to make tea out of this plant *wink*. Philomel, it does look like a Narumi Gata too! I really like this type of camelia that's a bit more fragile, and a bit more soft looking in my opinion to the tightly petalled other camelias. guanabanaboyarama, what can I say, great minds think alike.
