Newbie questions

Hi, I am brand new to brugs. I have always admired them while visiting the south and this year a nursery down the road had a few young cuttings and at $6.99 each, how could I resist trying something new, so I bought a white, a pink and a yellow, aka, maybe named but basically noids.

I do understand that in my zone 5 gardens I will have to bring them inside. That is not a problem for me, I have a nice collection of cactus, mostly orchid cactus and several other plants I haul in every fall. I planted my brugs in containers to make the move indoors easier. They are placed in a sunny, but not direct sun, spot. Being in my container garden area, they are getting watered at least once a day along with everyone else, more if need be, but always allowed to dry out between watering.

Now to the questions.

So far two of the three are doing great, lots of new growth, the third has some new growth, just not looking as good as the other two but still thriving, it's in the sunniest spot so I think I'll move it. The largest is now about two feet tall.

How big do they have to be to start blooming?

At what age do they start blooming? I can tell these are young cuttings.

Do they need a dormant period? I put my cactus into dormancy every winter to get blooms, won't be hard to also put the brugs into dormancy at the same time, but I can also keep them actively growing if need be.

How big can I expect them to get and if they go over, say, 8 feet, are they prunable?

Are they considered woody plants? The reason I'm asking is because if so, do they bloom on old or new wood? This goes back to the pruning question since I would have to know when to prune.

And I would love any input from anyone growing them in my zone. I don't have a greenhouse, but do have a great place for my plants in the winter, not as good as a greenhouse, but has worked for me.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice you can give, I really do want to make this work.
