Good Luck!

I live in Georgia, about 20 miles from the Florida line. I don't know why, but decided to try cannas for the very first time last year. I had no idea how they would spread, so I put them too close to shrubbery! They began sprouting through the ground a week or so ago, and I started digging them up to move them yesterday. The clumps were huge and heavy, but I managed it. I've moved them in front of a wooden fence that gets afternoon sun. Before, they got sun the entire day. Does anyone know if they'll do as well for me in this new location? Did I "mess up" by moving them? They impress me as the type of plant that will take over down here--rather like daylilies. Is that true?
