Funny you should mention Stuttgart as a water plant. I purchased mine from a pond store and in a bog situation it has taken off. But I have it in sun not shade. Cleo took two years to develop her beauty of strip leaves. Pinksunburst did rot over the winter so I do not have that one this year.

I plan on cleaning out my overflow bog next to the koi pond for new jap. iris collection maybe Stuttgart will be happy there. Full fun and moisture.

I've had Cleo for about 3 yrs. She striped up well last year. Just an off year I guess.

Is Pink Sunburst and Pink Starburst the same or different cannas?

Just realized I haven't even taken notice of my Picasso canna this year. To many plants...not enough time to stop and smell the roses.

Stuttgardt did the best for me INSIDE in that filtered light in the house through the curtains. It grew 6 feet tall that Winter, but then I traded off the blooming rhizomes and the small one died outside over the next Winter.. The 'Pink Sunburst' [which IS the Name of that cultivar - those two names are for the same plants..] likes some shade, too, to keep it's best color. I place mine where my Cedar tree will protect it from noon or so..

Both of my 'Pink Sunburst' plants are letting alot of just plain lime green cover their leaves this week - but since they are actively growing I KNOW that they will eventually color back up with their red and pink and cream exotica...
