sandiegosun, are you sure these are seedpod or buds? They have them out here also, sorry I sure wouldn't purchase one after I saw what they had. They looked really bad!

i believe they are seed pods, there are a lot of blooms, the reason i bought it, but when i got home and started looking a little closer i noticed the thick pods... some of them still have the tube part of the flower on them......

Hi there. Unless you want the seeds to try and propagate, I would cut them off. That way the brug won't waste energy on the seed pods, and will continue producing flowers for the summer. But it could be interesting to see what you get if you want to try germinating the seeds. Who knows what cross it might be.

Yes those are seed pods. There must have been insects near by and other Brug varieties to fertilize your plant when it was flowering, neat and good purchasing sandiegosun!!
From fertilization to maturity, you are looking at 4 months or more for them to ripen. There will be upwards of 80-100 seeds per seed pod, each and every seed will have it's own DNA and chromosomes and no 2 seeds will be identical.

So that's why mine aren't forming seeds pods, they're not fertilized? Hmmmm.... any chance I can do the 'paint brush' thing and fertilize them myself?
