I started pulling my cannas up today, too. I have been storing my rhizomes in the basement in black garbage bags with a little peatmoss and a few small holes in the bag. I also store a lot in those large plastic boxes with snap-on tops (from Walmart), also with a coating of peatmoss. Last winter, I stored over 500 rhizomes, and only lost about a dozen! In case you're wondering what I have that many for, I have a backyard nursery, and sell them. I think that if you keep them in mesh bags, they will dry out and die.

All of my cannas are red. I don't know the cultivar, but they get about four feet tall, and the flowers are fairly small(compared to some!). If you would like some, and have anything other than red, I will be happy to trade with you.

Thanks for the advice on containers and the trade offer. Most of my stuff is President which is red. I have some others but at this point I don't want to trade them, just identify them :).
