replanting cannas

I just dug up some 'Journey's End' Cannas from my NY garden. If I mail the tubers to a friend in Miami, can he replant them

immediatley, and will they start regrowing automaticaly? I've already cut them back and washed off the soil, I wanted to mail them to him this week. I'm assuming once they're in the ground in his zone 9/10 garden, they'll just keep on going.

Yes, he can replant them immediately where he lives, and they will continue growing. Cannas grow all year round in Florida. I live in Hawaii and have traded cannas, and when I get a rhizome, I plant it right away, and it keeps growing like nothing ever happened.
