Some of the seed catalogues have germination requirements listed with the seeds. OSC seeds is a good one, in fact I used it yesterday to write down the requirements of the seeds I'm sowing. The website is www.oscseeds.com and the catalogue if free. You can order it online. I order every free catalogue I can get my hands on, look under free seed catalogues. Janet

I started using the individual species guide in Stokes catalogue. Then I found Tom Clothiers site and downloaded his lists to disc. Each year I check through his listing and write on all my packages the germination requirements.
The Ontario Rock Garden site is also handy to cut & past for a handy reference guide.
I also use Norm Denos book on germination studies but the book has to be ordered from Mr. Deno himself and it is an intense read.
If you have a question, as Sharon said, perhaps one of us will have some insight.

Well the sites you all posted have helped, just have to use latin and not common names. YIKES! I learn so much from you all because of the similiar zones. I just wasn't sure what I should start now and what I should start later. I've had some good success but now that I'm doing seed trades, I don't want to waste the seeds because of my lack of knowledge. Case in point is the ornamental rhubarb, want to do well with it but don't know much. I'm going to do a spreadsheet and cross reference to see what I come up with.

Echoes, the ornamental rhubarb seed that I traded with you does very well with wintersowing, no special treatment needed.
