A photo would be helpful. What's the temperature where it's located in the window?

The dormancy can last as long as march- the recommended dormancy period is from october to then. Turning brown and growing mini traps can be how your plants go dormant. I have quite a few different cultivars and each one is just a little different. Some turn black and look dead(but aren't) and then others like my Super G basically just stop growing and don't die back. It is my understanding that if your plants are dividing rather than growing larger traps then it means they are getting too much water. I let the top of my soil media dry before I refill the trays.

No idea when yours will flower but they flower here now if kept out of dormancy.

I see that during dormancy there's still a bit of growing, but traps tend to grow very short, stubby, and will then size up in spring again along with a flowering if they are big enough.

Here's a picture of my DCXL venus fly trap not really doing much of anything, but by May, it should start making much bigger traps. It's currently under a cool east facing window at around 55F.
