Cotton like substance on Drosera Filiformis
16 years ago
Hey guys, I just recieved a sundew filiformis and I have it in full direct sun for 6+ hours outside and just noticed deep down where the crown is there is a cotton like material. Right where new growth is coming up there is a white intertwined hairs. I took a small sample with some tweezers and it didnt look like any fungus or mold I have seen before. When i pulled some off it pulled apart just as if a cotton ball would. The plant looks healthy has dew on it and is bright green. Is it fungus or could it possibliy be the way the guy packaged it? Has anyone heard of someone putting cotton with the plant during shipping?? (Could have missed it when I first planted it)Is it part of the plant or is it a type of fungus?
